Blade is based on the movie starring Wesley Snipes as the Marvel Comics character that is half-man, half-vampire. With assistance from his friend and mentor Abraham Whistler, Blade has vowed to rid the world of all vampires. As Blade and in later missions Whistler, you must traverse foreboding towers, buildings, and streets in an effort to cleanse the world of evil. Played from a third-person perspective, Blade involves fighting a variety of enemies including vampires, henchmen, militia soldiers, police, zombies and SWAT soldiers.<br><br>Vanquishing your enemies involves using one of the following five weapons: a double-edged Japanese sword, handgun, shotgun, the multi-launcher and machine pistol.In order to use the ranged items, however, ammunition must be obtained. There are four kinds including standard, carbon, explosive, and silver. To help determine which ammo is appropriate for a particular enemy, you can check their color-based genetic makeup. Yellow represents a monster, green is human, while red represents a vampire.<br><br>Blade can also collect health supplies scattered around the levels to help in his mission. These include serum, serum packs, thickening coagulant, health boosters and medi-kits. While the first three items restore much needed strength, the latter two replenish lost health. The world of Blade also contains fourteen inscribed plates known as glyphs that are used to open things in the library. In addition to these items, weapon parts are also hidden throughout the levels. When these items are found, Whistler can use them to alter and manufacture new equipment for Blade.

Awesome music, ok graphics, quick game, shallow story
Music is awesome if you love techno-based, electric-synthesized tunes. Graphics are ok, sub-par compared to today's, but for a playstation game produced in 2000 was ok for its time. Gameplay is average - moving the character, camera angles/views were consistently, annoyingly slow, but you get used to it. Boss fights were extremely easy if you used the right weapons, no increase in difficulty, no change in strategy. Other enemies were particularly difficult if you didn't use your health items quickly. There were multiple save points early in the gameplay, but became scarce towards the middle half, making for some tedious repeats if it was game over. Storyline was very shallow and there were only one ending and an alternate ending scene depending on whether you acquired all special items or not. It mostly revolves around Blade and his mentor Whistler, a vampire named Mannheim, and some unknown terror called Nightbeast, which really was a non-canonical character. Few cheats, few secrets, and files containing info on characters and enemies are unlocked as you advance through the game. Game received below-average reviews but personally rated average, with music a personal plus.

A fun PS1 Marvel game
Blade on PS1 is good effort with flaws. It has tank controls so that makes it a challenge at times but it's overall fun hacking, slashing and shooting as the day walker. It's not easy though with no map.

Blade great movies,ok PS1 game.
It's a movie game,I love to play movie games.I got it used for a good price.I didn't like the control of it too much.Lots of different weapons to choose from,when you get them.The game wasn't too bad.Blade 2 for PS2 is probably better.I haven't got to play it yet.
