The real deal
I've seen these Tesla coil generators (static electricity) in Radio Shack since I was a boy. Some work well and some barely work. This particular brand (which IS NOT Radio Shack) works very very well. It's not only just plain fun to touch the global and watch harmless lightning seem to travel out of your finger tips but also educational as it can be used with two or more persons to demonstrate a Van deGraf generator and the effect of static electricity. Fun lamp!
I bought this lamp as a gift but I tested it before boxing it back up. It's fascinating to watch the light beams in the globe and when you touch it, they go to your fingers. It's suppose to react to music as well, but I didn't test it for that. It is well made, although the base could be made of a heavier plastic in my opinion. The globe is glass and not plastic which is good. Maybe it has to be glass, I don't know. It worked perfectly and will be a great conversation piece as well as fun to use.I bought this lamp as a gift but I tested it before boxing it back up. Product looks great and is well packaged. It worked well for a few days and then lost power. The strands of light which go from the middle to the glass is way less. Like only 2 or 3. It’s like it’s mass produced poor quality. I have a plasma ball for 15 years which has never lost any power or energy.
