It has the effect of suddenly having a brand new record player. I was ready to replace my old one due to it having a damaged original lid - but, being a Technics model, that would not be cheap. It fits my SL-DD33 perfectly. The design isn't identical (the original lid is thinner and sleeker) but it is a perfectly acceptable alernative. Packaging was first class as was the service. 5+++++
