Have been playing video games for over 36 years, and have played my fair share of war games on many different consoles, current and classic. But this game BY FAR is the best one I personally have ever played! My nephew requested it as a gift. So I bought it used and of course tried it out to make sure it played right. I think I was 15 minutes into playing, and realized I HAD to get my own copy! The graphics and the story line are AWESOME!! It really gets my heart rate going! I usually sale my games after I beat them But this one is a KEEPER!! Just love it!!!!

I'm not much for multiplayer and the effort that goes into making COD multiplayer is minimal also. Like all of their campaigns, their storyline is very engrossing...for one playthrough as it is a Michael Bay-fest of HOOAHS and explosions. The game is most certainly worth the $10 price tag but nowhere near the $60 its initial asking price.

I believe that my lack of too much history with the COD games allows me to go into this with a relative lack of bias, a clean slate, if you will. For reference, the only other two that I owned were Black Ops and World at War. Pros: Fantastic graphics, very fast paced. There seems to be a real sense of emergency at many of the scenes, very emotionally involving. Many people complain about the lack of new weapons from MW2 but having only played that for a few hours, this isn't something that bothers me too much. Varied gameplay is also nice, as the entire game doesn't revolve around storm-the-building type domination tactics-there are many different vehicle parts, specialized packages such as the ARC-130's, etc. Great graphics, great sound design, great gameplay. Cons: I would say this with every COD game that I have played (just purchased MW2, sure I'm going to have the same issue) that some parts of this game are mindblowingly difficult, and shouldn't be. I started Black Ops on Veteran difficulty so I was somewhat expecting it there, but MW3 I decided to start on Regular. There are parts in this game where the immediate objective seems ridiculously simple, but you might spend an hour trying to get through one room because you keep dying over and over again. There was one level in particular, I forget the name, but you are trying to make a rendezvous with your evac chopper before the sandstorm hits, so you are given roughly two and half minutes to get to your objective. I would say there are roughly thirty enemies in the way of said objective, conveniently placed to play hell with your life, and all armed with guns that will kill you, on Regular difficulty, in about 4-5 shots. I literally had to replay this one individual part about 30 times before I finally got through. The only other thing that I have to say is that the story is a bit difficult to follow. It is one of those games that alternates between different units throughout the levels in the game, so be prepared to keep up with what's happening and to whom. Overall, though, this is a great game that I have already invested several hours into. I personally don't think that I would have paid the full sixty dollars on release for it, but I managed to get it at a good price on eBay so I am happy. If you are looking for a good challenge with an intense campaign and even more intense multiplayer, look no further.Read full review
Infinity Ward has put together something for everyone in the latest installment of the Call of Duty franchise, Modern Warefare 3. The Campaign is action-packed and stunning, transporting you by air, sea and land to save the world once again! The story however, is unimaginative and the Campaign mode relatively short. Hardened and Veterin settings add challenge and replay value. MW3 is unlike Black Ops in many ways (repeat this as a mantra); you'll have to retool your strategy and gameplay. All-new, expansive multiplayer maps, new weapons, perks and powerful Killstreak rewards are overwhelming. Read the manual, watch YouTube videos and play, play, play. The Pros are that it's a visually amazing game, loads of features and varying game modes. However, the Cons are quite weighty, with too powerful launchers, Killstreak rewards, Deathstreak rewards, and players who are just too good to be true. Perhaps the most interesting and rewarding aspect of the game is Spec Ops mode, which allows you to co-op with a friend or a random Live player to complete various Missions or Survive waves of enemy soldiers. It's a great way to get to know other players and party up for the multiplayer battlefield later (or other games). Overall, I'm having fun with MW3, but Multiplayer mode is overzealous and not nearly as thoughtfully executed as MW2 or Black Ops. I applaud their effort and think they'll get it right next time.Read full review
Great game 4 out of 5 points easily. The only reason it lacks the five star rating is simply because of the story mode. It lacked a good lengthy story, although the little that was given was intense. This game has hours of online game play and offline game play fun utilizing pvp combat, and strategy. The giant community of gamers that play this game make it that much better. Why is it better? simply because the gamers put on contests, clan vs clan battles, tournaments, and more. So to end my review I would recommend this game with great confidence if you are new to fps, or trying to continue your thirst for a great FPS game.
