The music from Halloween (1978)- one of the best horror scores of all-time.
I bought this CD because I saw the chance to get this soundtrack at a great price, so I took it. In my opinion, the music of this picture, composed by master-filmmaker John Carpenter, is not only one of the greatest scores ever from its genre but also in cinema period. The Halloween theme itself is so iconic that this piece of music still remains as classic and powerful as it originally was 34 years ago. I think Carpenter deserved to get an Oscar nomination for Best Original Score at the Academy Awards back in 1978. It is truly the music which makes films so meaningful most of the time and the same could said for a movie like Jaws or even something like Pulp Fiction which entirely uses songs instead of an original score made specifically for the movie. Films such as those would be ... I bought this CD because I saw the chance to get this soundtrack at a great price, so I took it. It is a big reason as to how Halloween became such a well-known masterpiece and it definitely would not be the same if it was missing the music. With this Halloween soundtrack I purchased, the copy I got was not exactly in the best of shape or condition, but what do you really expect from an item which is so old. This edition was from 1985 and you could tell that it was that old. The front cover had a large crack at the bottom of the case and as for the disc itself, it had plenty of scratches, smudges, and fingerprints. The last two came off easily, but you really cannot do anything about the scratches. Nevertheless, the CD still played well and I am satisfied with the product overall.

Not the original Halloween soundtrack
The Main Halloween theme has a beat to it in the beginning of it that is NOT in the 1978 movie. Pretty annoying since the album claims that it is.

Halloween
To me, the original version is always the best. This edition is more "raw" sounding than the re-issue which contains snippets of dialog and sound from the movie. This one has just the basic music and "stingers" which make the film flow. The newer edition has too much going on and some of the tracks sound "remixed"...

I have been looking for a great "halloween" cd for when i give out candy on that day. they dont sell this cd at any store (target,walmart,etc) so it was great to find it brand new for a great price! cant wait for October!! wahooooo!
