  • Windows XP All in One Desk Reference

Basic computing books are just impossible to find these days. I usually don't like the Dummies series because they spend a lot of time being silly or insulting and not enough space giving helpful information. This book seems to condense a lot of the basic stuff in (they say) 9 different books. I bought it because a friend I'm helping learn basic computer skills needs a ready reference to use while I'm away. It seems easy to understand and covers quite a few different areas of expertise.

  • Windows XP All in One Desk Reference for Dummies

This, like all the computer "Dummies" books, is excellent for helping with problems or getting back up to speed on applications you haven't worked with in awhile. Written in easy to understand language, with tips and "don't do's".
