Product Information

Humans dominate the universe with organids in Genesis Rising: The Universal Crusade. Organids are a type of spaceship that is covered in skin, requires blood as a building tool, and will grow and change during the course of the game. The humans claim ownership to the entire reach of space with the exception of a small zone known as the Universal Heart that is said to house the creator of life. The single-player campaign puts you in the role of Captain Iconah, a fleet commander and genetic designer in charge of the conquest and assimilation of the Universal Heart. Your fleet is a collection of light, medium, and large organids that feature a set amount of Geneslots used for such amenities as armor upgrades and new weapons. There are around 30 cooperative single- and multiplayer missions, with activities that include escorts and races against the clock with a total of three different endings to the game. Up to 15 friends can play on a variety of existing or user-created maps, as one of three factions with unique ships and DNA upgrades, through a LAN or the over the Internet.

Genesis Rising is a game reminescent of Homeworld:Cataclysm except for a few important points: 1. lack of 3 dimensional manuvering system (the GR movement is more similar to the game 'Sword of the Stars') 2. unique organic ship construction that allows on-the-spot weapon cahnges via a mutation system (this works for all three factions including both human factions) 3. co-op campagin availible 4. smaller number of ship types 5. longer campaign that allows the player to control the scenarios based on how he interacts with the other factions in the game. A major advantage is the lower-than-average sytem reqs of only 512 ram and 1.5 ghz processor. This allows most older machines that could not run the most current games to play Genesis Rising. One major downside is the large number of bugs, ... In short, this space RTS takes a new look at an older genre, fusing a Warhammer 40,000-like feel with a 'homeworld'-like gameplay. The unique aspect is the 'organic' ships that 'mutate' as you watch and command. Whether you enjoy the game or not, of course, depends on your own gaming preferences, but if you enjoy games of a similar genre (sword of the stars, homeworld and homeworld:cataclysm, or star trek:Armada2), you would probably enjoy Genesis Rising.

This game looks great and lots of fetures. I love space games but just couldn't bring my self to love this game, to much stratagy and not enouph blowing shit up and animated tits.

Great game, but for users that like Campaign mode. A space game that moves by upgrading your ship. It is a lot of fun, but a little older for the new group of gamers.
