Universal! - Works with all lights but always consumes power even when OFF.
LeGrand RH703PTU universal Wall Dimmer (not to be confused with the ‘703P basic wall dimmer.) Good – 1. Quality - High quality plastic and fit for durability and repeat cleanings. 2. Light - White pin point switch locator light (when dark). 3. Self Adj - Automatically sets the max dim range at power on using microprocessor. 4. Compatibility - Works with any dimmable lamp / bulb and some non dimmable bulbs too (“universal”). 5. Buzzing / Flickering - Microprocessor avoids lamp buzzing and flickering. 6. Good manual setting instructions on-line but unneeded because the automatic works well. Bad – 1. Really poor / confusing paper instructions. Written by a novice in a non-linear sequence. 2. Other switch is a standard 3 way switch. Incorrectly answered on-line. 4. Expensive but microprocessor designed. I am not saving any electricity because the dimmer draws power all the time, even when OFF, so I went to a basic dimmer instead with a manual low light threshold adjustment control. This ‘PTU “Universal” dimmer would be great for a contractor who needed a dimmer and not sure what dimmer would work with the light used.
