About this product

Product Information

Nicknamed the 'wooden wonder' due to its largely wooden construction, the de Havilland Mosquito was one of the most versatile and successful combat aircraft of the Second World War. Offering insights into the design, construction and operational career of the iconic Mossie, this manual gets under the aircraft's birch and balsa skin to examine its anatomy and describe the painstaking restoration to flight by Avspecs (New Zealand) of Jerry Yagen's FB26 KA114 and of Victoria Air Maintenance's B35 VR796 in British Columbia, Canada.

A very thorough and well researched book

A very thorough and well researched book. The Mosquito is my all time favourite plane. I build flying scale models and this book has given me new information, particularly about structure and covering. However, like all other sources I have tried, nowhere does it say what size the wheels were nor numeric details of colours (or have I just not found the latter yet). BTW I think the main wheels were 1.23 m (4') diameter.

  • A very interesting book on the De Havilland Mosquito

This is a very good book on the De Havilland Mosquito. It tells you the history and different marks of the Mosquito and some of the pilots and crew who flew it also the missions they flew. I would recommend it to anybody interested in WW2 Aircraft.

  • Comprehensive

I have many books on different types of Aircraft mainly as reference books for my modelling. This one stands out as comprehensive, very detailed and a compelling read. I will certainly be buying some more of these Manuals.

  • The greatest aircraft of WW2

This is the aircraft that won the second world war and the book details the various types of Mosquito and the various roles the aircraft carried out with great success.
