Great product! Definitely worth buying!
The Final Fantasy series has been in my life since I was a little kid. I found Final Fantasy VIII to be a fairly easy game to play. After going to great lengths to work toward a perfect file in Final Fantasy VII, FFVIII was like a breath of fresh air. The overall story was pretty simplistic and easy to follow. There weren't many times that left you wondering what was going on, except perhaps the 'dream sequence' you frequently encounter with Laguna. That is one of the things i found most irritating about the game. You are forced to play as Laguna, who appears to have no relevance to the story until much later in the game. The playable characters weren't as captivating as some other RPG's, but they still maintain lovable qualities. I loved the short movie sequences that played! They proved ... They proved to be very good graphics for the time and also very fun to watch. The battle sequences were also quite simple, with no 'mana' needed to cast spells. However, I wasn't a fan of the 'Junction' and 'Draw' systems. I found myself wasting a lot of time getting 100 of certain magic that I found I only needed for Junctioning, as it made the characters overpowered to an extent. Maybe it's just a personal opinion, but I much prefer having spells than use mana, instead of having to draw them from monsters that you face throughout the game. The card game 'Triple Triad' was one of the more fun aspects of the game. I really enjoyed the different rules I encountered as I went to different regions. I can't tell you how many times i reset my console just trying to get that one card! Despite the fact that this is not among my favourite RPG's, I really enjoyed playing it and I recommend it for those of you who are die-hard Final Fantasy fans!

Not just a game. A mind-blowing experience!
There is one reason I spent the amount I did on this game... ...It's AWESOME!!! Picture this. You've got 4 awesome characters, each which have their own 'Specialities' on a quest. Together they are unstoppable. What one lacks, another has, and you start as one, and then meet the others at the start of your quest. Realising you all have the same 'goal', the obvious thing to do is team up. So you do. . . GOD Help any bastard that gets in the way. In this version of FF, the main characters are some hot chicks (which won't happen again until FFX2), now these hotties end up developing some really 'kick-ass' skills. The 'Magic' is brilliant, with some really bloody awesome 'cut-screen-like' deliverances that cripple most, nay, all foes. If you were ever (in this day-n-age) to own a ... In essence, this is EASILY a 9 - 9.5 Game, even today, so you can imagine how it got to us "Ollies"? Buy this game, play it through, and if your mind is not sufficiently blown, then you SHOULD BE ON MEDICATION!!! zzDJChris
