A fresh and ground-breaking mix by Ferry Corsten. This is a more mellow but also more diverse album than previous Euphoria CDs, because it is a collection of both 'old' and 'new' house, progressive and full-on uplifting trance, along with some classical and ambient pieces to build a mesmerizing 2CD set. Everything Ferry tries here is simply beautiful - the mix really works! Infinite Euphoria is definitely a masterpiece. It shows it takes a lot more than just great tracks to make a great mix. The tracklist, the track order and the mixing are flawless. Ferry takes the listener on a fantastic journey from classical and chillout, through progressive and deep house, into some peaktime bangers, and then back round again! I was so impressed with the overall arrangement and it makes this such a unique album. The mixing is a delight :) and you can't help but want to play particular parts of the 2 CDs over and over. My personal favourite mix is CD1 tracks 6-7 where "Point Zero" (Leama & Moor mix) seems to have been written to fit perfectly with "Is it A Sin" - Wow! Each CD of tracks is incredibly well planned and it's arranged beautifully to avoid key or beat clashes of any kind. For example, tracks 2-3 in CD1 sound like they're one beautiful song (it might be "Angels Write The Rules"), and the classical Barber's Adagio For Strings (despite its overuse) acquires a new dimension when blended with "Seattle Calling". I recommend track 18 on CD1 "Religion" : You will love this... when it finally gets there after that long intro! Other previoulsy not mentioned highlights from CD1 include "Breezer" (1-08) and of course "The Whiteroom" (1-17) CD2 is just as good as CD1 if not better. "Smack My Bitch Up" may look out of place on the tracklisting, but it actually works pretty well. The best track on CD2 is definately 2-07 "Autumn Tactics" (Thrillseekers mix) which is a real beauty - the perfect chilled trance track. Other treats on this disc are 2-13/14 "Cry (unplugged)" into "No One On Earth", and also 2-18 "Sweetest Dreams" which may just make you cry with happiness! Overall, it's a true electronic musical masterpiece! Every EDM enthusiast should certainly indulge themself in a dose of Infinite Euphoria.Read full review
The Euphoria brand has consistently supplied above average compilations and Infinite Euphoria mixed by Ferry Corsten is no exception. I missed this one on its' initial release and so I was really pleased to find it on Ebay. Like any compilation there will be tracks that are already in your collection, but Corsten has mixed them to perfection with a few mixes that were new to me. This is not a 'tear your ears off' mix, but something a bit more chilled and thoughtful (apart from the Prodigy - 'smack my bitch up! and a couple of other harder tracks). Difficult to single out what makes this collection work for me, but it has not been out of the CD player since I got it (both at home and in the car). If you see it at a bargain price - go for it!!
Ferry always rocks my little world, but this cd is one of my favorites. He mixes the adagio for strings into something wonderful, and I must admit I played that part over and over again.this is one of the best euphoria albums, and is definately one you should have in your collection.
