Good Price for a working camera / microphone solution!!
It is a webcam with built in microphone, no doubt about it! It works great and easy to install / handle / use whatever else one needs to do. Resolution is not the greatest so it is mostly for someone that wants to be able to use any and all social messaging programs..... This works with everything!!! Like most webcams, do not be misled by special instructions on what kind of messaging service it is meant for, THEY WORK WITH EVERYTHING!!!!!!!!!!!! Once set up, any application that needs / recognizes webcam will be able to access the image from this webcam..... Hope this helpsIt is a webcam with built in microphone, no doubt about it! Why I love my MS Life Cam X1000
I just love this web cam. It has the best picture quality I've ever seen. The price was SUPER low because I bought it used. only $13 & free shipping! At first I was concerned because it had no software included, like the new one I purchased for my grandson, but once it plugged it in, Microsoft immediately downloaded everything I need. Wow! I never expected that! It has so many little extras too. Effects are so much fun. The best thing I think though is the built in microphone. No headset to wear, or messing about trying to co-ordinate with a desktop mic. All in all even if I had bought it brand new in the box, this is the web cam for me, no doubt. It was OK.... then it wasn't.... then it was....
What can I say. I might be a glitch in my PC. At one point my LifeCam worked great. Then after a while the software didn't want to run, so inevitably I had to reinstall. This went on several more times. When it WAS working, it DID WORK GREAT. Great resolution, nice features. I thought the dashboard with optional animations were kinda corny and unnecessary. The unit itself is made with excellent quality, very stable sitting on edge of monitor or laptop. Can also sit on any flat surface. Anyway, I may try one of the other more current versions of the LifeCam. We'll see. I miss chatting on my webcam!What can I say. I might be a glitch in my PC. At one point my LifeCam worked great. Microsoft Web Cam
There is nothing as sweet as buying a piece of hardware that installs smoothly! Microsoft has a real winner in the VX-1000 Web Cam. No extra wire for the microphone, just the USB cable. I am running a Dell Optiplex GX280 with XP Pro SP2. I have tried and junked several different makes of web cams and had just about given up when I cam across this one. I went and researched it on the net and found nothing but excellent reviews and the price was right so I bought it. As I said the install was a breeze. Finished the whole process in about 10 minutes. It works great, has a nice picture and good sound. It fits perfectly on my LCD monitor too. Good for the purpose.
Easy to install. Cord long enough for my floor-level desktop PC installation. Fully adjustable. Includes MSoft Lifecam software, easy to use. Pushbutton on top of webcam brings up Microsoft Live Messenger, a feature I did not use.
