A classic.
The books arrived in excellent condition and I have not been able to put the books down since. Late eighteenth century prose takes some getting used to, however Edward Gibbon provides detailed accounts and insight into this period of history.

It's amazing that this set was originally published in 1776. I owned this exact edition in high school, but it was too dense for me. Thirty-some years later, I'm giving it another attempt. It's a worthwhile challenge, I'm enjoying it so far.
