Very happy to play an old classic and have it fully functional
I was happy with the game and that even though it is more than 25 years old, the battery back up of the cartridge works and saves my game data. I haven't found that with other cartridges.

Flawed perfection!
For classic hockey fans, and retro gamers alike, NHL 95 is an excellent addition to your catalogue. Although the gameplay leaves a little to be desired in the realism department, the game makes up for it with entertainment value. One-on-one play is frantic, as the goals are scored at a furious pace. Plus, there's the fun of playing with retro players (Lindros, Roy, Lemieux, Messier, Wendel Clark, Gilmour, Bourque, the list goes on and on). This is what I use it for.
I bought it because it's cheap, and its PCB has the same components and setup as a lot of games that are actually good. I got a few copies in order to take out their ROM and replace it with that of said good games (Seiken Densetsu 3, Treasure of the Rudras, Terranigma, Live A Live, etc.). Sports games for the SNES are usually not worth anything in and of themselves, except for nostalgia. Graphics and gameplay have become so dated, without any storytelling to back them up, that the cartridges are only as good as their parts.I bought it because it's cheap, and its PCB has the same components and setup as a lot of games that are actually good.
