Seller notes: “Beautiful Antique Dutch Silver Mounted Cut Glass Sweetmeat Basket with good Hallmarks having been ... “Beautiful Antique Dutch Silver Mounted Cut Glass Sweetmeat Basket with good Hallmarks having been assayed in Netherlands in 1839 (date letter E) with the Makers SB with a pedestal base and overhead swing handle stamped for 833 quality silver - there are some minor nibbles/chips to the edges of the glass,one of the handles is slightly loose in its fitting and the wing nut on the underside is very tight on the base - there is some tarnish - with good visible hallmarks to the underside of the base and to the handles this is a lovely piece - with strawberry diamond shaped cut glass and beautiful wavey edges - a very attractive piece nearly 200 years old - please check photos which form part of the description and do help - beautiful and very useable piece to decorate the dining table - don't miss it! MeasurementsBasket 6.26" long and 4" wide,base 3.25" long and 2.25" wide,height to top of basket 2.75" to top of handle 6.25"total weight before packing 480 grams”
