Not new but well worth using.
This is not a new camcorder but hard to beat for quality image and video. Was worried about the built in battery, but even to owners charging and discharging the battery functions just as the manufacture states. Small and comfortable to hold, small screen well illuminated and swivels 180 degrees. 5 mega-pixel sensor; any less and picture quality and size is a challenge, optic zoom and HD video. I checked video up loaded to You Tube to inspect quality and was pleased. Some negatives...must Sony memory card. As you would expect from its spec sheet, not good in low light situations. Controls are not that handy. I would recommend this camcorder for normal, daily use.This is not a new camcorder but hard to beat for quality image and video. Great Travel Camera!
first the good, this camera takes awesome video and pictures it's very portable too, it fits right in your jeans pocket with little effort. I recently took a trip with my girlfriend to Thailand and we had a great time took many pictures as well as HD video which is why I bought the camera in the first place. For the price you can't beat it either, with shipping it still was still the best priced out there. Now the bad this camera doesn't come with a view finder like the old camcorders and some of the current ones so if you like view finders you can stop reading now. the lens cap doesn't come with a string attachement and as you might expect it was lost in thailand around Koh Samui to be exact. the camera comes with one of those hinge screen that you open to see what your recording or if ... first the good, this camera takes awesome video and pictures it's very portable too, it fits right in your jeans pocket with little effort. First, the Webbie is small and easy to use. But not small enough to justify the lack of features and poor low light video quality this camcorder has. Outdoors, the picture quality is tack sharp. Normal progressive speed is 60 frames per second in order to provide smooth motion. But with the Webbie, there is only the 30 frame progressive speed. It is too slow to provide smooth looking video. Objects in motion look jittery like an old home movie. If you move the camera while shooting, the image is more jittery than a normal video camera. There is no image stabilizer, and this makes it even worse. It's difficult to hold this camera steady enough to get smooth motion shots. All the controls are fully automatic with no manual over rides. This works fine in good lighting. In low ... First, the Webbie is small and easy to use. Now if you're going to just shoot a few clips outdoors for fun to post up on YouTube, and you don't care about the motion artifacts, the Webbie is great. But you don't need HD video for the web. I fact, most web sites like YouTube can't handle the HD file size or HD resolution, anyway. The one's that can compress it so much it's almost useless to upload HD. There are other camcorders this size and price range that shoot standard resolution on regular SD cards. The image may lack the edge defintion of the Webbie, but it's more usable in most cases than Webbie images.

It is a fun little camera that is easy enough for the wife and kids to operate. I bought a second one after I saw the first. Download a nice free DVD authoring program that can use the MP4 files and you can make your own home videos with title screen and chapters and all. It took me a long time to learn to do this (self taught) but the results are worth it. Get the kids to make silly videos of anything and everything so you have something to practice with, and then when something improtant comes up that you want to video and DVD, you have the know-how. Only 4 stars for the lack of optical zoom, but for the price it is a good buy. I think people buy them new and try them a few times, only to realize there is more work than they thought. Practice. Not for recording in the dark.. But everything else is AWSOME. I read lots of reviews and articles before I bought and I was a little worried, but what the heck, for this price I will try it. I use it to record my son's sporting events and it works very well. when i got it i was worried because it was so small but the high def images are awsome. the zoom is better than what i expected and because it's hi def the digital zoom work great as well, didn't pixelate at all. two draw backs, you have to by a memory card to record to, not that big of a deal. the battery is an internal rechargeable battery that can't be replaced or expanded. I'm still glad i bought it....Not for recording in the dark.. But everything else is AWSOME.
