About this product

Product Information

The title Nine Hours, Nine Persons, Nine Doors refers to the frightening predicament protagonist Junpei finds himself in: he's trapped in a sinking ship with eight other passengers, he has only nine hours to live, and there are nine locked doors leading to his freedom. To help Junpei make it out alive, you will have to put your gray matter to use while solving various cryptic puzzles. In between the puzzles are exploration sequences, where you'll be able to use the stylus to navigate each ship's room to find helpful items and clues needed to unlock each door. Your goal is to help all eight passengers escape by overcoming the more than 30 obstacles standing in your way. The decisions you make during the game will ultimately affect the ending you'll receive.

Love the game and ZERO series!

The game is great on the ds with the touch screen and top screen allowing for dialog and internal thoughts to be separate and not crowding the screen and one part that I love was the soundtrack and sound effects as the combination legitimately scared me with how they worked together to convey emotion and tension of the the moment. The story is amazing with all the ways you can go about the game to get changing dialog from characters based on who is with you and the things it introduces to the player being strange, interesting while at the same time absurd to think about coming into play later on in the story and not just forgotten. The character art is good as they have a great design thay can move and react to the situation in the game with some areas where it doesn't match the tone and ...

  • my review.

In short, plenty of puzzles, compelling narrative, and enough twists and mystery to keep you hooked the whole way through. There are 6 different endings, and you can fast forward your way through parts you have done before on any of your 2nd + playthroughs. It's interesting though because your character doesn't know any better but you as the player do. You make more informed choices, or just adding variation, to see the other endings. IF Saw was a game this would be it! Brilliant in every way!

  • Anyone who loves reading and puzzles, BUY THIS GAME!

I actually had re-bought this game, my old version broke during the very first puzzle, but I'm SO glad I finally got it again!!! This is certainly my new favorite video game of all time! The storyline (though there are about 7 different ones, depending on the paths you choose) is amazing, no matter which ending you're heading toward, and that means the replay value is just as great. The unfortunate part is that you end up liking all the characters in their own way, which is generally a bad idea, but that means that the story is written so well as to bring you closer to the characters, almost like you're stuck in that situation WITH them, and not just playing. The only odd thing I found about the game is the number of type-o's. It's almost like they didn't ...

  • Amazing Game, with compelling story

This game was perfect for me. I got almost exactly what I was expecting. I got a gripping story, excellent characters, and challenging puzzles. The story never got boring, even the low points of the story were interesting. I would recommend this to people who enjoy the visual novel genre of video games, as this game is probably 70% text and 30% puzzles. It's also a choose your own adventure game, where your choices affect what ending you receive.

  • One of the greatest stories I've ever experienced.

Out of all of the books, movies, games, ect. that I've experienced stories through, this is definitely one of the greatest. The storyline uses the video game and Nintendo DS mediums brilliantly to tell a story in a way that would be impossible on any other format. The gameplay itself was challenging enough to be interesting, while still being easy enough as to not be a burden. The characters were constructed masterfully, and the plot included twist after twist after twist. The way the story was told also gives you a chance to figure out twists before they occur, giving you a great sense of accomplishment. A must buy for anybody who values a great story.
