This is a lovely classic fairy tale story book for both children and adults. It was originally published in 1863. The illustrator is Jessie Wilcox Smith. It is a hardcover with cloth spine and cardboard boards and glossy illustrated dust jacket. There are 11 glossy full page illustrations and many other two toned (green and black against white background) illustrations. It is the story of a little mistreated chimney sweep boy with a terrible "master / boss" and how he discovers a lovely world under the water where other water babies live amongst the water creatures. I wish there were even more colorful illustrations as some of the vintage children's fairy tale books have, but this book is quite lovely and good quality and the price was amazing. Quality story book for both children and adults who love fairy tales.Read full review
