The second installment to the Megaman Star Force series. Split between 3 versions packaged into 2 retail boxes, it is like buy one get one version free. Much like the previous Megaman Star Force games, it is a classic RPG that is being tweaked to perfection. Throughout the game, one is controlling main character Geo Stelar in a 2D perspective overworld. Being faced with many challenges and problems that arise, he transforms with Omega-Xis to become Megaman. The battle system takes place on a unique 3D perspective on a 3X5 grid using battle cards collected throughout the game. While some people feel it to be too simplified and restrictive compared to the predecessor Battle Network series, it still brings a great experience and utilizes different kinds of strategies. As for the story, this one has a world culture theme of many countries instead of being mainly based on space. The character developments were present and done in such a way that makes them quite rememberable (some ideas taken from the anime). My previous statement about being 2 games in 1, the game has 2 save files, one for Zerker and one for Ninja (kind of like how Megaman Battle Network 5 Double Team save files were done). There is not much difference besides the battle cards that can be obtained within each version and the OOPart obtained in the story that allows Megaman to transform into one of the 3 tribes. I would like to add that besides the cover art and battle cards obtainable for considering which version to play/buy, one can input codes freely found on various gaming sites everytime before selecting a save file to transform into any of the 3 tribes or even Tribe King. As of currently writing this review, Nintendo has shut down the Wi-Fi service for all DS games, thus the online battles and brother bands features have become unavailable to be tapped. Local multiplayer still works, if you have extra DS systems around. Overall, I would recommend at the very least giving this title a try.Read full review

The game itself is what I expected, but the cartridge didn't initially work upon arrival. Contacts had to be thoroughly cleaned before the game would work, and the game will still not work on occasion.

A great way to use up time. A neat evolution to the gameplay introduced from the megaman network game series.

Keep getting corrupt files and have to start all over. If I can refund this game I would do it immediately.

I bought this as a gift for my son's 7th birthday. It's a complete revamp of the Megaman I knew as a kid! He loves this game and would recommend it for ages 6+ Lots of text based character interaction. Not necessary to read to play, but it builds the story lines of the gameplay.
