Need Better Packaging, book was shipped only in plastic bag with no padding or protection. One corner poked through package and was slightly bent. Book was used and in condition as described and expected, even with the bent corner. Have bought books before from this seller and they were packed better. I am a giving a neutral response hoping other buyers are aware of the somewhat poor and inconsistent packaging from seller as that is what feedback is for.

  • I love Matt Martinez cooking!!

I already have this book, I like it so much, I purchased this one for my son-in-law that likes to cook when he has time. I have cooked several recipes, Matt' favorite shredded beef brisket is great. All you need is the brisket. Then you can use it for so many other recipes. Usually I cook briskets on smoker but last time I cook in the oven. Turned out really good! We used the brisket for breakfast taco/burrito, then for supper we had brisket to make fajitas, used brisket to make spanish steak on pg 85, just used brisket instead of round stk. I also made enchiladas, bean & brisket burritos w/ pico. The briskets are usually huge, s it makes several meals for a family of 3. The New Mexican Jalapeno Stew w/Pork is yummy! I used this recipe with steak once, my family loved it. Today I am cooking ...

  • Matt Made It To The Border

Matt hit the nail on the head in his version of Tex-Mex cooking. Not to mention his tall tales are hilarious and make for a most enjoyable cookbook. The Kings and Queens of Southwestern Chili cooking reside in the Rio Grande Corridor in New Mexico from Taos, Santa Fe, Albuquerque, and Las Cruses. To us, there is some sinning going on with the use of bell peppers instead of chili peppers, and my goodness, canned green chili? Louisiana cuisine has a presence in this book as well. Wonder what border they ran to? Great recipes include Fried Spicy Okra, Jalapeno and Chipotle paste, and Pollo Guisado.
