    Great production and wonderful cast.

Great production and wonderful cast. The era has been portrayed perfectly will all good historical details respected, and the acting is just as brilliant as one would expect from such seasoned and versatile actors.

  • EXCELLENT ACCURATE TO PERIOD DEFINITIVE VERSION OF ELIOT'S DRAMA

Superb TV adaptation from the days when no expense was spared on productions of period classics. Fine actors, costumes and specially composed music for full orchestra plus fabulous accurate historic settings, including shutting down part of Stamford for two weeks for filming and removing all modern features from the streets and buildings etc. It would be difficult to beat this as the definitive version of George Eliot's novel; far superior to today's ridiculous box-ticking nonsense that ruins period dramas.

  • A beautiful production in every way

Very well acted, excellent locations, wonderful costumes. Andrew Davies has done a first class job of condensing 600 pages into six hours of very watchable drama. Highly recommended.
