Beat the game using Sonic with all chaos emeralds, you'll get another ending; same when you beat the game with Knuckles with all chaos emeralds. Beat Sonic 3 and Knuckles with Sonic with all of the super endings, you'll get a slightly altered ending to the ending while beating the game with all the chaos emeralds; same with knuckles with all of the super emeralds.Read full review

When I was a child I saved up as much money as humanly possible (for a 10 year old) in order to buy my very own Sega Genesis. I finally bought my Sega which came with a 6-in-1 game including Sonic The Hedgehog. I also bought Sonic 2, rented Sonic 3, rented Sonic 4, bought Sonic Spinball, and bought Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine. Unfortunately my Sega broke, which caused me to not play these games for many years. I finally saw this game for sale at a Game Stop and immediately decided to buy it on Ebay for cheaper. The game allows you to play all the games I mentioned above, among several other Gamegear games. The best features of this game are that you have all these games at your immediate desposal without having to worry about switching them out, you can actually save the state of your game (which was impossible in Sonic and Sonic 2), and (if you play these games enough) you can unlock several other popular Sega titles. The only serious problem I have with the game is that some of the Sonic titles tend to glitch in gameplay. A minor problem (which isn't necessarily a problem) is that if you choose to play with 2 players you will need a second Xbox controller, which, if you're like me and playing it your 360, can be rather expensive if you only have one. All in all I definitley would give this game a 9 out of 10 due to its replay value, nostalgic value, and all around greatness as a game.Read full review
This was a game I used to have when I was a really young kid, and I still have that original copy from my childhood. Unfortunately, the disc has been scratched to bits, and I lost the original case. Now, I have a new copy that I can actually play, and every time I launch this game up and hear that title music, I feel like a kid again. Now, how does the collection hold up? Absolutely fantastic! To me, this is the definitive Sonic collection, due to all the games and effort put into it. How many games are there? A whopping 20 games! You get all seven Sonic games released on the Sega Genesis, including the lock on possibilities for Sonic & Knuckles. You also get six Game Gear Sonic games, Flicky, Ristar, Comix Zone and The Ooze. In addition to all that, you get all the manuals for the games, and a bunch of extras, from comic book covers to a look at in production Sonic Heroes cutscenes, all of which is accompanied by one of the best soundtracks I heard on a game completion. Seriously, go check it out if you haven't, it's some good stuff. The games, fortunately, also play flawlessly. They run exactly as they should, and there's no sign of input lag at all. Only problem there is in here is that some of the sound emulation is not exact, but it's not too bad. The weakest part about this collection is unlocking secret games, like Flicky or Ristar for example. You have to launch different games a certain amount of times, and they aren't small. You have to launch up games from 40 to 120 different times total to unlock the games, and it's a f**king nightmare. Other than that though, this is an A+ collection, and I highly recommend it.Read full review
