Conjures up fear and suspense.
I like reading books that give rise to movies because they include material that can't all be in the movies. I also enjoyed learning the differences, especially concerning the characters, between the movie and the book. Even though I've watched my DVD a hundred times, the book was still interesting and suspenseful -- I could hear the ominous music in my head at the shark's approach.
