Took it to the local serious watch store for new battery, but they claimed faulty mechanism. This was an Omega dealer very knowledgeable. I decided to have a go at it, new battery, connected the AC (all clear) point to earth to reset the electronics, also heated it gently with a hair dryer, in case of residual moist. It woke up and is now working
