Easy solution to an old, or broken wifi, or a missing-wifi-adapter, computer.

My wireless network adapter was somehow wiped from my Asus Vivobook after a reinstall of win 7 from the factory win 8. I could not find the right adapter download or it was no longer supported and so I was left without a solution except a complete reinstall of the OS. This Asus adapter solved the problem. I first downloaded the software from Asus and then plugged in the adapter. I ran the program, it installed properly, and I am back on-line wirelessly, and no longer frustrated with this older yet still useful laptop. A great solution I suspect for many who have given up with a perplexing problem. It is fast and has good range. Hope this helps others in the same predicament.

Will not purchase Asus products after this

asus usb-ac53 worst WiFi adapter interferes with all wireless peripherals and has bad connection. I cannot download anything because the device delivers and accepts interference from my wireless keyboard and mouse. making the item a total waste. now i have to purchase a pci wifi card.

  • Works very well.

My laptop has no AC was the reason I bought this. Surprisingly it works super well. My home laptop is about 25 feet from the wifi router and it gets a full five bars & transfers at the max speed my remote SSD will read & write. Windows does Backup with absolutely no problems to the SSD attached to the Routers usb3 port. Windows reports its 867mbps connection on 802.11AC with all five bars. Never looses connection & everything is set energy savings - so it working well. Lacks the power to reach out far probably as its lower powered than a bigger wifi nic. Router logs show it connected' Associated Authorized RSSI Tx rate Rx rate Connect Time Yes Yes -60dBm 650M 527M 01:36:13

  • Low-Profile USB WiFi Adapter that works very well

Updated an older laptop that have very limited WiFi speed. This is a super low-profile device that really performs. It's made my otherwise "slow" laptop which the family uses for browsing the web quite responsive. I would recommend.

  • Asus AC53 Adapter does what I want

I have a high end Asus dual band wireless router, but my Dell notebook only supports the 2.4GHz band. The Asus AC53 adapter was very effective in adding the 5GHz band to my notebook and dramatically increased the throughput on my home network. I now own two of these adapters and would recommend it.

  • Packaging says stop, insert disc....the technology used doesn't have a disc slot.. item, however, still functions

thank you for the cost and effective usable item. It has packaging inserts indicating the user must insert a cd. Don't despair, immediately, for the non disc accepting technology user. The item functioned after insertion of the item without disc use.

  • I'm Pleased

ASUS USB AC53 AC1200 works well as a substitute for the internal Wi-Fi card broken by the Windows 10 update. Thanks Microsoft. The closer to the router, the faster this adapter runs... 5GHz signal doesn't get through walls very well. I've seen as much as 255 Mbps with this unit. I'm pleased.

  • Like the NANO size.

No driver for XP on the provided CD. I had to search for chip set driver. I don't recommend it for XP users. Otherwise I get great range and good connection speeds. Like the nano size.

  • Works right off the box

Plug'n'Play, literally. Plugged into a free USB3 port, and Windows 10 recognized it right away. Thumbs up, both of them, for ease of use and high-speed wireless access.
