Have used the wrist model blood pressure machine (sphygmometer) for years so learning to use this type properly is taking some effort. Only reason I changed is that my cardiologist prefers the arm cuff measurements. At my last visit to his office it was determined that my poor old wrist model measures about 30 to 40 points off on systolic and 10 to 20 points off on diastolic from the sphygmometer(s) used in his office so he suggested that I get a new machine and that it should be an arm cuff model. This type isn't as easy to use and I'm not sure my evaluation of the accuracy of this machine will be correct until after my next Cardiologist appointment when we can see if they are in sync. I do like the fact that this is small but sturdy and portable because it operates on batteries (so I don't have to look for an outlet when travelling). The price is in line with other, similar machines. I would recommend that anyone considering this type of home sphygmometer should be sure to do your research and take arm size into consideration because there are many other lower priced arm cuff models out there but the cuffs are smaller which can result in erroneous readings. Using a cuff that's too large can also result in erroneous readings (not to mention it may need to be ordered separately at additional expense). BP monitor evaluation
Yes it is easy to use as long as you know exactly where to position it on your upper arm. It will give you a "ball park" reading but don't think it's accurate. You can take multiple readings on the same arm and you will get very different readings. Read the instruction manual and keep your arm the same level as your heart. I suppose you can take the average of 3 or 4 readings to see about what your BP may be. Sometimes it squeezes your arm gently and other times it's much stronger. That is probably why the readings vary. Nice design and easy to read. I'd like to get it calibrated to know how accurate it is.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned

Very Accurate
I must have accurate, or as close to accurate, readings as I can get. I have a BP, where my diastolic, or bottom number can bottom out at any time. This machine is within 1-2 points of accurate when I have a manual BP done, with my nurse. This is well worth the price and needed especially if you need accurate readings. The cuff is easy to put on and then you just press a button. Can't get any simpler. Glad I bought this and would buy again! I highly recommend it to anyone, and we all need to know what our BP is at and given time, since BP is silent and can kill at anytime. Works great.
I purchased this gently used and so far it works great. I brought it with me to my doctor's appointment and compared it against their blood pressure reading and it was almost spot on. The cuff is easy to use and with a push of the button, you get your blood pressure. Improved Model
I have an older model of this same blood pressure monitor. This one has been improved by making the compressor more powerful.It inflates in half the time. The supplied cuff is large enough to fit any normal arm. The one fault I will mention is that I also have an Omron wrist blood pressure monitor. All three models give different readings. For the price, I think its a great value. I did quite a bit of research and am happy with my purchase. My readings can vary by - up to 7-10 (systolic). But it generally settles into a narrow range with multiple readings. It matched up well with my doctor's office machine. Even there, multiple readings will likely vary somewhat. This unit is easy to use and has more features than I need. It runs on AA batteries with an optional electric wall plug optional (not included). That probably keeps the price attractive.
