Recommend for any type of writer
Recommend this book to songwtier AND even writer at any level of experience or desire to learn. Also watch Pattison's free tutorials on YouTube if you can't afford the Berkeley tuition fees to sit through his classes haha! They've helped my tremendously as well. Pat Patterson is an excellent teacher!! So glad I snagged a printed copy (updated edition) of his teachings. My creativity and writing (both generally in my creative writing, and lyrically as well) have easily improved 2 to 3 times over. Thank you..bottom line, if you're skeptical of buying this book then wait no longer; DON'T hesitate. It's fantastic, and if you follow the teachings and exercises your writing will improve also. Pat Pattison is amazing. And he deserves the recognition for being one of the best songwriter/teacher. Book shows how to go deeper to find those golden nuggets. Lots of examples as well as inspiration. You will learn how to use all of your senses and what questions to ask and what prosody is all about. If you want to become a better writer, get this book.
