The saw has been well used. It didn't sound right so I took it to the Makita service center in Denver. They are really great people who work there. They do a good job at a fair price. But the saw cost me another $89.00 on top of the $150.00 that I gave the seller. In the long run I didn't save alot of money. If I would have bought new.

      Great saw

Great saw, got it sent to Victoria Australia and even with shipping included worked out $50 cheaper than the 165mm 18v Cordless circ saw. So now I have a saw that absolutely demolishes any other battery circ saw I have tried as well as being cost effective. I have not previously used a rear handled circ saw but after this am an instant convert! Very easy to get nice straight cuts by eye. This saw is obviously much heavier than a standard 1x18V saw but I would rather have the bigger blade and deeper cut, as well as the power of this saw as I will not be taking it up ladders or framing roofs with it everyday. I am sure when released in Australia this saw will have a >$400 price tag associated with it. Highly reccomended.

    • Makita cordless worm drive

This thing is a monster! Cuts through 2x like butter. I rely on my 6 1/2” single battery for most of my day to day cutting but this saw is an excellent addition to the toolbox, especially when cutting lvl. The only downside is that with the power comes the weight, but there’s a tool for every job. I would recommend if you have numerous 5 amp batteries and a dual rapid charger.

    • Just what I’ve been looking dog

I’ve been a carpenter all my life I have used corded worm drive saw since 1980 this type of saw is best for 1st fixing and cutting roofs now Makita has brought this new cordless 36v rear handled saw out the days of staging a cable around scaffolding have gone I wish I had cordless tools when I was an apprentice back in the 60s a fantastic tool

    • Great saw, ended up with a good tool-only price.

Good power, lighter than my corded Skill worm drive, built-in sky hook for rafter work. Only down side is the included blade. Clearly meant for cutting lumber to length without burning as much battery. However, ripping anything that pinches, the kerf is too narrow and bogs it down.

    • Very Powerful and Efficient.

I know that it is unfair to compare this 36 volt say to my 18 volt ryobi, but I was absolutely blown away by the power of this saw and the quality of the blade that came with it. It cut through 2 x 6s more efficiently than my corded skill saw, and made short work of the 4 x 4 s that I needed to cut to length.
