The darkly comic crime caper DOV'E LA LIBERTA...? (WHERE IS FREEDOM?) stars legendary Italian comedian Toto as a man who feels more comfortable in prison than outside after spending more than 20 years behind bars for murder. ERA NOTTE A ROMA (ESCAPE BY NIGHT) is an emotionally wrought drama about a trio of POWs attempting to seek refuge in the middle of Nazi-occupied Rome. Rossellini's OPEN CITY may be more famous, but these two films are just as awe-inspiring. This installment of DIRECTOR'S SERIES is a rare opportunity to own two little-seen masterworks from an influential neorealist.
