The Atari 7800 Has (4) micro switches - Power | Pause | Select | Reset They are the major cause of " No Power On Failure " Also causing Pause, Select and Reset functions to fail. This is such a known issue that we at [EpR] Electronic PCB Retro have a standing SOP to replace all switches on all our project builds.

About this product

Product Information

Bring back those fantastic memories of sitting in front of the television playing 'Pong' on the Atari 7800 console with its wired controllers. This black console offers the chance to step back in time and enjoy vintage games like the original 'Donkey Kong' on an Atari cartridge. Plug the power cord into the wall and the coaxial cable into that television, and then slip into fun games like 'Joust' or 'Dig Dug' in the original format. The 1.19-1.79MHz processor makes the Atari 7800 the top of its game when it comes to consoles from the 1980s, and the vintage feel means Atari offers a nostalgic experience.

  • Good product!

The system works perfectly, my only problem is with the Atari 7600 pro controller. The controller was a bit worn out, this resulting in having to use a bit more force to make the joystick respond, but the buttons on the controller are very responsive. Overall, it's a purchase I don't regret, and if I had the chance, I'd buy another for somebody.

  • Not given enough credit

This was ahead of its time. Sadly Atari was their own worst enemy , the home brew community has really shown what this console was capable of. Had this had the good third party titles it would have been a contender with Nintendo and Sega in that generation. It some great games and is a lot of fun.

  • Retro Atari

Atari 7800 is definitely a step up from Atari 2600. The graphics are 10x better and clarity of the picture is better. If you like retro game systems like myself and grew up with them, this is a must have system.

  • Great Retro System!

The Atari 7800 is a wonderful and often overlooked gaming system. I never reached the cultural icon status of the 2600, but is backwards compatible with most to the 2600s game library and accessories. This system doesn't quite measure up against the NES in terms of graphics or sound, but it does offer up some really enjoyable game-play and nostalgic fun!

  • Top-Notch

The dust cover I received for my Atari 7800 game console is top-notch. It's very well-made, with excellent attention to detail and constructed of good, solid materials. I'm very impressed with the quality of this product, especially considering its low cost. 100% satisfied.

  • Retro fun.

Love that this console still has the charm and graphics that rivals the nes and others and you can find homebrewed games still being made today I don't think I will ever part from this console.Love it😁🕹

  • It’s not a Vectrex But ittle Dew

Like my title says it’s not a Vectrex. But as a game system it’s about as fun as any 1983 console. Reminds me of the Colecovision with a worse library. It’s a good things it’s backwards compatible with the 2600 and that it has Ninja Golf!

  • What Might Have Been

The 7800 was a very good console that was released a year or two too late. By the time it belatedly reached the public the SNES had already locked up the market. I am having a lot of fun playing with it, and it is a must for every console collector.

  • You get what you pay for

For the first few months I had this hooked up to a 32 inch crt and was amazed. Shortly ago I decided to hook it up to my 48 inch flat screen. I will not be going back to my crt. This is the way the 7800 was intended to be enjoyed!!!
