    Fantastic series and great acting!!

    wonderful series!! I also have the 1975 series which I also enjoy. I think I prefer the actors in this updated version. It is really gripping and it is impossible to stop watching it!! One problem was that there were a lot of glitches in the first season discs. Fortunately I already had season 1 which I had prurchased previously and so I just put those three discs in the new case and threw out the other ones.

    Aiden Turner is the best. I was very engaged. He showed true emotion in the movie. I loved all of the characters. I have watched the series 4 times. I am in love with the Poldock character. I wish there were more seasons of it.

    Wonderful historical drama and romance of that time period (1800)

    Very interesting story taking place around 1800 Cornwall England between the aristocracy and the poor mine workers. Nice to see the historical perspective of to two different classes and how they dealt with their circumstances. Very good balance of drama, romance, and some humor..very well acted.

    Excellent series. Great cast.

    Excellent series. The cast is wonderful, you just feel like you are back in old England with them, they are that realistic. It takes off kind of slow but really picks up by the end of the second season and is quite shocking. Once you start watching, you don't want to stop. It brings out and portrays real love which is so missing in society nowadays. Well worth your time and money.

    Gritty but Great Mini-Series & Highly Recommended!

    This mini-series is awesome. The main character Ross Poldark was a " larger than life " person for the era that he lived in England during the late 1780's. Even though I don't agree about some of the things he did-this actor was dashing, charismatic, and in every scene - it was exciting to see how he would react. There was never a dull moment with him! Even though the story line is a bit gritty-it was still great acting! The other characters were excellent too. I wanted to see this series b/c of it's high ratings it received & I highly recommend it!

    The World Could Learn from Ross Poldark and his tenacity.

    I'm in love with Ross Poldark and Aidan Turner. I find it hard to differentiate the two like "What would Ross do?" and "What would Aidan think and handle this?" I have watched the earlier production of the show and there is a world of differences. The first episodes with the 70s version were quite boring. Ross just returned from the war and his "people" only showed interest in his dead dad and what property he left The newer version showed Ross with his heart broken by Elizabeth, his home in tatters, no family, no livelihood. What will he do? Watch with a love for his determination.

The Brits class-system built around the English monarchy and their courtiers make it clear that "the land of the free" was destined to be!     This series is indeed addicting! It will make you laugh, cry, feel good, feel angry and will keep you on the edge of your seat! My cousin and I have been watching about 2 episodes each night. As we are drawing toward the end of the series, I feel that I'm going to miss the characters and the anticipation of "what's going to happen next!"
