Great Camera but........
Ive been using the pro series Nikon bodies for the last 14 years. My first was the D1x followed by the D2x and then the D3X. All cameras were purchased used several years after they were introduced to avoid spending a fortune. I recently bought the D2H after buying a D1H late one night. The D1h was great but it lacked resolution and speed, hence the D2H purchase. What this camera is great for: Speed, Durability, Images big enough to fill a computer screen and to post online. What it is not good for: Large prints, ie larger than 8"x10" I enjoy using this camera with its 8 frames per second and familiar D# body. I use it mostly to take pix of our new puppy, he's a quick little guy, and for that it works well. BUT......would I recommend buying one...Not really. This camera is large and heavy, the white balance sucks, the exposure latitude is...well...2003, plus.....Your phone will produce better images.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned

Complex Camera but awesome capabilities
I bought this camera for the great value and incredible professional capabilities it has. Years ago when I was in college, I used a Nikon F 35mm film camera and learned the fine art of truely taking great pictures (in B&W and color) by manipulating the focus, F-stops and ISO, then with film processing. As time went on, fully automatic cameras became the norm and I forgot most of the finer points that I had learned. The D2H that I bought is bringing all those finer aspects of taking great pictures back into focus for me. I also bought a manual focus lens to go with the camera and love both of them together. Yes, I might miss a quick shot of something, but thats ok, for snapshots and other quick shots, I still have my Nikon Coolpix. But for enjoying the ability to completely manipulate every aspect of a shot, this D2H is a great value. With the prices down below $200, it is hard to beat the value. I got a great deal with this camera - it was very lighly used, practically a demo. The owner gave me everything (body only, no flash or lens) - all the books, charger, everything. I've used lots of Nikon cameras, including the D2X and the current D7200, and like the D2H better than either. You missed out on a great auction when you let this one go. classic entry point for a pro grade SLR
I managed to pick up a D2H with very low shutter count for a very low price. Super happy with my investment. Image quality is great - despite an apparent low pixel count - fine since I don't really produce large prints or do a lot of cropping.
