This is a replacement. The old one is over 30 years old and still works well, but didn't have a bottom cover and had to remove the batteries to turn on. Valterra Deluxe Refrigerator Fan
Arrived with broken switch. A tiny spring used as a poor contact in switch fell out when I opened package. It immediately was lost in my carpeting and I had no idea what fell out, so I put batteries in and tried to flip switch. It pushed straight into fan. Realized at this point switch was broken and contact for switch (since none was there) must have been what fell put. Luckily found tiny spring fairly quickly, put in place, re-assembled switch and clamped together properly so wouldn't fall apart again. Unfortunately contact (spring) was not good enough connection anyway (who knows, maybe there was another piece missing) and still didn't work. Out of curiosity, bridged connections on back of switch and this fan does not seem to move enough air to be worthwhile anyway. Sending it back.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Broken upon arrival
Super cheap build quality. Probably the cheapest plastic you could buy. The on / off switch was broken on mine when it arrived. No time to exchange it as it was needed for a 9 day vacation using a camper refrigerator. So I hot wired the unit to permanently be on. It does work as described, I took my rear exterior vent off plus this fan running non stop made my food super cold. I even had near slushy beer from a 20 year old camper refrigerator!!! I have owned these before and they work ...
I have owned these before and they work well to improve cooling in LP refrigerators, etc.. If you have the idea that these are going to move a lot of air fast you are wrong. It just keeps the air moving constantly around your items in there to improve even and faster efficiency. I have read where people score these as worthless. It does improve the operation. Higher force of air wouldn't change things. Cooling things with these types of refrigerant styles are slower but efficient just slower compared to larger commercial compressors which a high volatility fans would work much better. I am VERY PLEASED WITH THIS PRODUCT AND THE SELLER. It is like the tortoise and the rabbit when it comes to some refrigerators and the size needed in my mind and understanding and study of physics.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Bad switch - too much trouble to return.
