    GREAT SCI-FI NOSTALGIC FLASHBACK

    Excellent movie with state-of-the-art special effects for the time. Growing up in Southern California, I was especially tickled by all the references to real cities and areas that I either grew up in, or was extremely familiar with. I have seen this movie countless times, but it truly great to finally own a copy that is uncut and was digitally re-mastered in high definition.

    War of the Worlds restored

    My first copy was from TV. (VHS) I bought the tape to get a better quality picture. Then I bought the DVD for that same reason. But I hesitated to buy the Blu-ray because on the DVD you can see the piano wires that held up the Martian Fighting Machines. But on the Blu-ray you can barely tell that they're there. The picture is excellent and they even gave it a 5.1 surround track. The restored version is great I give it 9 out of 10 because of the cartoon cover.

    A nice update Blu-ray of this classic Sci Fi movie. Great color. Nice extras , although some of the extras have been included in previous DVD versions. The only minor negative for a Criterion issue very little written text. Good buy
