I now have two of these locos. One for me and one for my son. For a loco that is pushing 45 years plus it is a great performer. I purchased them both from the same seller who was disposing of a relative’s collection from the 1970s. The trick with these old locos and all Hornby locos is keep the wheels clean and the motors moderately oiled. Lovely Victorian looking loco a great testament to Hornby engineering built in England. The photo attached is what type of carriages I would recommend to run with these locos.
