Best shaver ever
Been shaving for 45 years, and mostly with Panasonic shavers. They are by far the best shavers made. I have 4 Panasonics in my collection right now... the ES8249, ES-LF51 ES-LA93 and the new ES-LV97. Whats nice about Panasonic is that the charger/cleaning station can be used interchangeable with almost any of it models in a pinch. I've used Braun, Reminington and most the top brands and Panasonic is the best, IMHO. The Braun had an annoying vibration to it and not as smooth as the Panasonics. My current shaver is a ES LA93 which is very good but only has 3 blades The ES-VS97 in new and improved, and I mean that literally. The 5 blade head are smooth and soft, and cut with less swipes than the ones with 3 blades. The pop up trimmer is a big improvement over older models, as it locks in place moving in either direction. Lastly, cosmetically it is much nicer looking with a matte black finish.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned

Didn't do it for me! Very uneven shaving results.
This razor simply didn't provide complete shaves and left many areas of stubble. This is after using it for approximately 5 minutes to shave. Tried it with shaving cream but it didn't give any better results. Some areas of the face would be a clean shave and others not even close. I also studied the manual and found it to reveal an interesting component to the mechanics of the shaver. It states that the Lithium Ion battery has an expected lifetime of 3 years. It then goes on to state that the battery cannot be replaced by the consumer. So that tells me that I have a shaver with a 3 year lifetime expectancy. Love this razor. I've used all types of razors and the Arc 5 gives a smooth tight shave in half the time any other razor I've used. Easy to clean and lasts quite a few shaves in single charge. By far the best!!!
I was looking to replace my razors and shaving gels and foam for quite some time, replacing razor heads, shaving foam, mess, etc. Shaving with this and razor does not make any difference (at least for me) and i am a cruise line worker who shaved with razor every single day for over 10 years. It will take few days to adjust to it however you will never look for something else. I use it for dry shaving and the cleaning of this thing is amazing, just apply some hand soap and few drops of water and turn it on, after few seconds rinse under the faucet, oil up the blades and you are good to go. If you skip shaving for few days it has trimmer which i used the first time to cut my beard and "prepare" it for shaving. First few days small irritations and redness however its been a while and nothing has come up, i guess your face needs to adjust to it as well. I got 10 shaves on the battery. Pro: Closer shave than my old 3-head Norelco, even with new blades. Trimmer works fine. Cons: Kinda loud, but no biggie. 3-day growth it handled fine. 5 days - not so well. Seems like it doesn't cut longer hairs very well. Which could actually also be a Pro in another sense, because it doesn't grab my long hair; it seems to know to concentrate on the short stubble of the face which, again, the Norelco didn't distinguish. Overall, I am VERY pleased. Been wrestling with that Norelco for too many years. Best razor ever built for heavy beards
When a 68yo heavily bearded Italian says this is the best , believe it !!,,,3-5 day old beard , is easily removed in under a minute ,,,dry !!! ,, I used a 3 blade Norelco for 27 years because it was the best,,, but new technology wins, I cannot believe i am shaving when I use this,,, in a minute you have the closet shave ever , even when 5 days old.,,, easy clean in seconds.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
