Save Yourself the Time and Aggravation - Get the Brushless Model With the Bump Head Instead
If the line feed worked, it would be a good product, but the line feed system design is fatally flawed. The spring inside the line spool housing is not strong enough to get the line feed system to work properly. I cleaned it really well, sprayed the gears with silicone to reduce friction and this caused the line feed to work about three or four times, but then it went right back to not working. If you have to stop and take the cap off the the head and manually feed the line every time, forget it. It's not worth having this thing. It's a shame because if the doggone line feed would work it would be a decent product at a good price. But low price doesn't do you any good if the product doesn't work as intended. Someone's head should roll at Black and Decker for this one. It should never have been approved for mass production. Seriously, who wants a trimmer on which the line feed doesn't work when the thing is right out of the box brand new? This tool belongs on the "Island of Misfit Toys."
