    Cast Aluminum construction

    This adapter ring is a genuine Mikuni accessory. It was designed to fit to a Mikuni HRS42 carb and seal properly and let the carb then be attached to a Harley-Davidson air cleaner backplate with a stock filter and air cleaner cover. It wouldn't work on my XL883 because I was using an Arlen Ness Big Sucker backplate and there was something different in the geometry of the AN backplate which wouldn't match. I have used these adapters on tube framed Buells and a Harley-Davidson FXR and they worked perfectly. This is a well made quality product and should provide years of service.

    Good quality part.

    The adapter fit the carb and the bolt holes match the air filter box, but by itself there is much more needed to do the job. You will need more parts and deal with more fitment issues than just this adapter.

    Bad casting

    Poor casting. A chunk was missing out of the throat. DID NOT happen during shipping as the missing piece was not in the plastic bag containing the adapter. Overlooked at the manufacturer, intentional or accidental. Most likely an isolated incident, but only the manufacturer knows.

    Had to modify

    Of course fitment depends on what setup you're using but I had to do a lot of modifying. Haven't ran it yet but the seal/o-ring looks like it will seal good. Kinda pricey for being universal.

    This adapter does what it says it will do with an S&S teardrop air cleaner, but with some modifications aka grinding. The Mikuni fits fine after that.
