Cheap insurance against winter freeze up.

Checked if worked, by plugging into outlet at room temperature (@ 70*) and plugged in a fan. It didn't allow current flow to fan. Placed in freezer for @ 30 minutes. Took out and installed in outlet, plugged in fan and current flowed to fan and it worked until fan stopped @ 35 minutes later and device was @ 48* by IR thermostat. Will use with outdoor heat lamps in pump house. I use two one on each lamp. Redundancy...

  • Waiting for it to get colder out!

I bought 2 thermo cubes to turn on my non-led christmas lights (they get warm) that are draped around my bougainvillea! I read it in a blog somewhere! I found them here on Ebay. The coldest it has gotten since I bought these is 38. The package says the cube will turn on my lights when the temp. gets to 35! pretty cool idea to save plants from winter frost! I have no doubt it will work like a charm...but I have to wait for it to get colder out!

  • Thermocubes work great

These are great for anti-freezing lamps or heat tape. It doesn't have to stay on all the time and will still come on for freeze protection. If you have to keep things from freezing these great savings products tokeep the electric bill down.

  • Seems to be working as it should

This is a cool gadget that can save on the power bill, and these days everything helps. I've been keeping an eye on it and it does turn on at 35 degrees and turns off around 45 degrees F. I'll still keep an eye on it over the next few months, as I'm always leery of new gadgets. Hopefully it continues to work as it is designed because I have heat tape plugged into it and I don't want my water pipes to freeze, if it decides to not work. As of now, it's been working great!!!

  • So far, So good. Working for years without a hitch.

Just got to install it in chicken house. Once there was a cold enough night, I can see it had turned on when it was 30 deg outside. Used it to be a temperature switch for a crude homemade heater for the chicken water. Hope it holds up. My rating is based on a single night's observation. I have seen some reviews bashing these as not working properly or failing in a short time. Hope I do not have that experience. But, so far, so good. UPDATE: It is Dec 2021 and still working perfectly. Since it is used to turn a 60W lightbulb on & off for the water heater, I can clearly see it working day or night as the outside temps raise & fall. Very happy as are the chickens. DH
