    Great Show, Crappy Packaging

    I love the show! The packaging however is ridiculously cheap. The binding that keeps the disc holders together is literally a piece of clear tape. The plastic is also very brittle on the disc holders so expect the little rings that hold the DVDs to break.

    CONTAINS BAD DISCS! PICK A DIFFERENT SET/EDITION!

    Do not purchase this specific set (2017, 47 disc, big box with the station on it)! As other reviews have mentioned, there are defective discs. Binge watching, I have already found 4 bad discs in the first 3 seasons. One of those discs was completely un-watchable, the others had one or more episode that did not play/did not play all the way through. Many discs that do play now show scratches, smudges and what looks like "disc rot" right out of the box. This was a new, sealed item. This is a sign of bad packaging design or bad process/quality control as the packs were pressed and/or packaged.

    Great set.

    I read a lot of reviews that said the discs were damaged, or unplayable, but I had no problem with this set The discs all played well, the sound quality was good, and the video was clear and crisp. Maybe I was lucky, but I got a complete set that played perfectly. I am very happy with it. I must say, the packaging was a piece of crap. I solved that by simply buying a dvd case that held them all. Because of the packaging, I could only give it f 4 stars. But it is to me a minor problem, easily solved.

    Deep Space Nine revisited

    I am happy to watch the series again after almost twenty years sense originally shown. I did find that several of the 47 DVD's didn't play well but with some good cleaning they all appear to play well now. I was hoping that they may improve the video from the original but I understand that is a expensive process and they probably couldn't justify the expense. I am very happy with my set!

    Definetly worth it for the price. Packaging is Basic.

    For collectors, you should now that the box and disk holders are very minimal so this may not be for you. That being said the whole series is there on the same DVDs as when separately released and at a good price. If you've never watched DS9, the series itself is slow for the first season and then just keeps getting better and better over time. Its become my favorite star trek series.
