Canadian developer BioWare applies its RPG expertise to Sega's hurried hedgehog in Sonic Chronicles: The Dark Brotherhood. Rather than continue the ultra-fast platform action for which the series is known, Sonic Chronicles instead finds gamers using a top-down perspective to explore 20 unique environments where combat takes the form of turn-based battles and stylus-heavy mini-games. Other classic role-playing conventions come along for the ride as well, including the formation of parties for team battles, multiple character classes, an epic storyline, plenty of dialogue, and the ability to collect and trade items with friends using Nintendo's Wi-Fi connection. There are 11 playable characters in all, including series mainstays Tails, Shadow, and E-123 Omega, and each character comes with unique skills that can be further customized with "Chao creatures" that serve as attribute upgrades.

    Still a good game, yet it hasn't aged as well as it could have.

    The game is good, however I remember having a lot more fun with it. While it may not be appealing to some, what with the odd graphics and very odd story and gameplay for a sonic game, it's still a pretty interesting and fun game. If you like turn based RPGs with a semi-dark semi-cute sonic the hedgehog skin, this game should work for you :D

    I'll love it whenever I get it

    I didn't get the product. It went to my old address, despite sending my new address through message right after purchase, but I guess it was overlooked. Waiting on my friend to send it to me. Still happy I'll be able to play it again when I get it.

    Good game, works well

    It was a good game and it worked wonderfully, asides from it freezing once during a battle but I don’t know if that was due to my 3ds or the cartridge. But overall, worked excellently and was a wonderful experience and I don’t regret buying this game.

    Different, but good

    This game is very different from other Sonic games. It's a turn-based rpg, similar to Final Fantasy. It's also touch-screen obsessed. Nothing you do will require the buttons. Despite these differences, I enjoyed this game just as much as any other Sonic game.
