Mini & Me by Michael Cooper (Paperback, 2013)

About this product

Product Information

Michael 'Mini' Cooper knew he was different from an early age. Fiercely independent, he challenged injustice and questioned what he perceived to be the irrational belief systems of both parents and teachers alike. But no one wanted to listen and they didn't want him heard. After several failed attempts at beating him into submission, he fought back with devastating consequences. Michael Cooper didn't always know the truth but he understood the lie. Some have described him as a warrior of justice but for him it was always about the human spirit and the right to let breathe freely.

  • Honest, compelling and sad.

This is an absolute compelling read, I had recently watched documentary on Mini, and was interested to see if there were any books available as wanted to read something from Minis point of view, The book tells his story and how life was for him, and how misunderstood he was, Very sad to see how the authorities treated Mini at such a tender age, and how things have moved on from that time, The book was in fantastic condition,, All in all fantastic

  • Emotional and enlightening

Even if you haven't seen the BBC documentary about Mini, you should still read this book. It is well written and says so much about the failings of the care/ youth justice system and even more about the strength and resilience of Michael.

  • Excellent book

I always wondered what happened to him after the documentary. A terrible life.
