    My preference: Gen 3

    I LOVE my little "hockey puck" style Amazon Echo Dot 3rd Generation. It takes up less space on my counter and it is easy to camouflage if you wish. The new sphere version is larger and the sound truly "echoes" in my living room. I much prefer the smaller version which sounds like my previous one. MKW
