  • First novel of the Riftwar Saga

I purchased the 1992 revised edition which has extra content compared to the original 1982 edition. The story is interesting, describing life in a small medieval city and kingdom, when strange attacks start occurring. My only disappointment is the cliff-hanger ending to this novel, which forced me to find and acquire the 2nd book in this trilogy!! Well written and hard to put down.
