  • Slasher Horror

This story features many deconstructions and reconstructions of the slasher movie. Characterization is valued. So is suspense. As a result, the death scenes end up packing a wallop as the people who die because of Ghostface are people we've come to care about. Plus, movie escalation brings about a memorable final act. Why this hasn't been placed in the National Film Registry yet I'll never know.
