The 2" punch is well designed if there is plenty of room to operate the tool. The tool cannot get to the center of a 2 x 6 stud, the handles need top be a full 90 degrees to engage the stud, and only from the inset side of the stud. If the stud is closer than 10" , the tool won't fit without torquing the stud out of shape. I'd love to see the tool have the ability to punch the stud from either direction & get into tighter spaces. But.. in the open field & 16" oc, this baby performs. Still glad I bought it.
It's a little cumbersome & large, yet still somehow, lightweight.. It's absolutely perfect when you have room between the metal studs, otherwise, you might have to unscrew some studs to make it fit, not a terrible thing, because it cuts like butter, for real..
