    Love our filtered water!

    The feature that I like the best has to do with the taste of our water. I have had our water tested and it is healthy and safe, but we have a water softener for the whole house that I leave off in the summer, but on through the winter. Once that kicks in and regenerates the taste of salt out of the tap is very noticeable, no matter the brand of salt I buy (and some worse than others). However, the taste out of the refrigerator water is like water should taste like. With this model refrigerator it is easy to change filters, no tools required and very few drops of water dribbled around.

    Pulsates bad since new filter

    After I have Whirlpool come out and inspect frigerator I will do another review because I'm not sure if water dispenser is acting up because of new filter or a different issue. After changing filter water pulsates really bad when it's dispensed and splashes everywhere

    More than double the cost of similar refrigerator filters and no way to test it's effectiveness.

    Although this is a direct replacement filter I have no way of knowing if it's as effective as the OEM replacement. Not knowing where it was manufactured is it to factory specs? I have a 375' deep well and my water has been certified pure with calcium being the only undesireable element. The original filter trapped it so well that the flow became reduced by about 60% after 6 months and restored since the new filter was installed. Just have to wait six months and see if it's as good as the original.

    Water Filters for Whirlpool Fridge

    It seems like you need filters twice a year. That's a lot of money in my opinion, but I like the filtered water. This seller stated these were OEM filters. The last filters I bought leaked when first installed, but they came with extra o rings. The extra o rings solved the problem each time. These OEM filters don't come with extra o rings. They don't leak, but there is now air in the lines no matter how much I run the water to reduce the amount. I don't know if there is a small leak on the o ring, or some other problem. They were still a good buy and I would recommend them. I'm hoping when this one runs out and I install the next one, it will cure the bubbly water problem.
