    This movie is basically about all the unsung heroes. Starting with the black American tankers went to war in a little more than steel coffins. They pay tremendous homage to the M 18 hellcat which, Though it was not a tank ; it was a self-propelled gun and one of my favorites of the Armor inWorld War II. just four of these machines devastated countless German Panzers in the battle of the bulge. They did nothing less than save the day. At that time we were losing three Sherman tanks to every one that survived an encounter with one single panzer!     What a great movie! I'm not reading true stories about WW2 or watching the movies because I seek out action, bloodshed, or violence, but to learn how and why something so horrible could have happened. As a female, this movie was particularly special to me because there was less bloody scenes and more story, and because part of the story happens to reflect that era's sad state of this nation's attitudes towards people of color. Today it is so hard to believe we didn’t see the irony of our thinking towards the Germans, but like nazis Germany's prejudice against the Jews, we were blinded by a few evil minded men from youth onward. The way out is the battle, and it takes God and a few courage men to win such battles; followed by some intelligent & righteous reasoning to grasp it ...
