    I love these things!

Sounds crazy but I've owned at least eight of these over the last 10 years, including this version and the previous one. I also own a Clip Jam (ugh). I listen to a lot of audiobooks--somewhere between 40-50 a year. I love this player because it's inexpensive, lightweight, it sounds pretty good (certainly good enough for speech), the battery lasts forever, and it's packed with features. It's also compatible with the Overdrive system libraries use for their audiobook collections, so I'm able to save a ton of money by borrowing audiobooks rather than buying them from Audible. I do use Audible as well, and it's compatible with that system too. The only minor issues are: 1. They almost always stop working at some point. As I said, I've owned a lot of these, and I admit that I'm really hard on them. I fall asleep listening to audiobooks and i roll over them at night. I drop them repeatedly. And, if I'm not working or talking to someone, I'm always listening to an audiobook. I really work them out. So, this might be on me. Still, expect your Clip to last 1-2 years if you use it often, then you have to go looking for another. 2. This model isn't being made anymore, and the world has found out how cool they are. So, expect to pay more for a used one than they cost when new, back when Sandisk was still making them. They used to cost about $30-$40 brand new, and you can find them now on ebay for $60, $70, $80 or more. I've seen people try to sell them for over $100. I think if you can get one in the $50 range it's totally worth it. One last thing...Sandisk now sells a player called the Clip Jam. It is NOT the same as the Clip+ and in my opinion it's a piece of junk. I have one in my desk drawer that I never use.

    Don't waste your money.

Horrible for people that use the Clip for audiobooks. SanDisk took away the PLAY ALL feature that enabled the audiobook to play all chapters one after another. Look for a different manufacture.

  • Good but not free of problems

I've bought several of these over the years because they do seem to be about as good as it gets for a dedicated device. The weakest point, and my usual reason for replacing, is the headphone jack socket. I've often had to wedge in a smidgen of tissue. Another one the clip snapped off. The device still worked fine, though less conveniently, but unfortunately I mislaid it in a hotel. One simply stopped functioning after a reasonable life. Another irritation I've found in all I've had is sometimes the pause button doesn't work. Overall it's a good little device, and since Sansa has stopped making them, replacing with versions reviewers seem to consider inferior, I'd recommend buying while the going's good!

  • Great player

I own 3 of those now, best feature for me is that you can play songs according to genre, album or artist. Not all players feature this, even among Sansa models. Very happy with my purchase ( even though shipping was outrageous, at $45! ).

  • As Advertised and the best Sandisk

Great player, and it sounds amazing on the sound system at work or with really good headphones. Better than iPods, cheaper and if you drop it, well, it takes a lickin' and keeps on tickin'. Get it.

  • It Works

I love this model of Sansa player for the audiobooks I listen to, and unfortunately they discontinued it and replaced it with models which don't work nearly as well for my purpose. I've had several, they last varying amounts of time, the clip always breaks eventually, and I sure wish they'd fix the few issues they had with this rather than creating a new model which isn't as good! This one arrived fully charged, in good shape, and so far works just fine, thanks!

  • Excellent SanDisk Sansa Clip+

Better than expected, battery life was excellent ( did a small charge allowing it to drain and then did a complete overnight charge) unit has working in the car for 5 days with slot radio cards.

  • Lightweight and great features

I like this mp3 player because it is small and has a lockout button so I can put it in my pocket without it changing randomly. Most new mp3 players do not come with the lock out button. They do tend to have problems with the buttons stop working after excessive use. By far the best mp3 player that I like but they are discontinued and getting harder to find without paying a fortune

  • Small compact unit that's easy to use.

It plays a couple of songs then in the middle of a third song it will skip to the next song. Yesterday it went back to the beginning without playing any song past a certain point.
