A quick statement about Epson printers. I bought a WF 2850 some time ago and had several problems. Epson was good enough to send a replacement. It takes forever and a year to connect by WiFi EACH TIME you want to print and ink costs are sky high. I reached my limit when I did a recommended firmware upgrade and after that the printer would not recognize the cartridges I had recently paid $60 for. Buy new $60 cartridges to keep a printer I had now come to despise or get this Brother for $100 that claims will give me a year’s worth of printing on supplied cartridges, the choice was easy for me.
I bought this after checking out budget printers and seeing very positive reviews. Setup took several steps (multiple devices) but straightforward. Print quality is as good as any printer I’ve used but admittedly I didn’t print any pictures. The printer is immediately available to all of my devices. It’s not the fastest printer but not a big issue for me. I’m not sure I will get the promised year without ink refills but very pleased so far.
Easy in the extreme to set up and get going. Fabulous print quality. Simple to operate. Great for the average home that does not want a printer with a thousand bells and whistles to complicate matters.
